Shutterbox Seeder The Shutterbox Seeder is a simple and inexpensive seeder for block or tray-type containers. Made of durable polycarbonate, this seeder has a seed resevoir on one side and a seeding frame. The seeding frame corresponds to the outside dimensions of the container, block or tray, and contains a fixed bottom plate with a grid of holes (about 7/16" diameter) (1.1cm) that corresponds to the pattern of cavities in the container. The top layer of the seeding frame is a slider, with holes drilled just large enough to hold the number of seeds to be sown. Sliders come with pilot holes - customer drills exact hole size. Each shutterbox is built for a specific type of container and different sliders are needed to sow a different number of seeds per cavity or for other seed sizes. One unit includes:
